The Return of Free Water makes its debut at Ashefest; first sculpture constructed.

The Return of Free Water made its debut August 24-26 at the Ashefest Music & Arts Festival at Deerfields in Mills River, NC.

The first sculpture, a weeping willow tree that dispenses water, was constructed over the course of the weekend, using irrigation tubing and recycled water bottles. All of the bottles used for the tree were collected from the festival's recycling bins.

Free Water Project members Ilsa Ananda Door, Mikael Long, and Pan Door worked together to build the tree over the course of the weekend.

In addition, the Free Water Project dispensed free water to anyone who wanted it throughtout the festival.

We would like to extend our thanks to the Ashefest organizers and to Deerfields for welcoming us to bring the project to such a beautiful location.
